notes on registration:

1. Usernames can only contain the 26 letters A-Z in uppercase or lowercase, numbers 0-9, hyphens (-) and underscores (_).
2. A valid email address is required to register. This is so that we can help you recover your password. We will never share this address with anyone nor sell your data. It is used solely for automated password reset and to help prevent bots from registering.
3. Passwords are never stored on the server in plain-text. If you lose your password, we can not recover it. In case of a lost password, you will need to request a password reset.

5. Nicknames are optional. This is the name others see you as on-site. If not filled out, your name on the site will be your username.
